California Energy Commission Postpones Enforcement of Energy Consumption Disclosure Law From July 1s

  1. July 1, 2013 – Such information be disclosed, recorded and tracked by commercial property owners with buildings over 50,000 square feet.

  2. January 1, 2014 – Such information be disclosed, recorded and tracked by commercial property owners with buildings over 10,000 square feet.

  3. July 1, 2014 – Such information be disclosed, recorded and tracked by commercial property owners with buildings 5,000 square feet or larger.

Although the requirements under the new law take effect beginning July 1, 2013, the California Energy Commission has issued a notice that it will be postponing enforcement of the new law until September 1, 2013.
